The canvas of a sarcophagus from the necropolis of Sedeinga in Sudanese Nubia has been digitized by the Arkhênum laboratory. On the canvas of Sedeinga, from left to right, Osiris is seated on a throne, followed by his wife Isis, and the Devourer. The balance, instead of just being adjusted by the god Anubis the jackal-headed, is represented here by a pendulum he carries on his shoulders. Finally, the god Thoth with the ibis head writes on a board the weighing result, the deceased raising his arms in supplication.
The canvas will join in the coming weeks the collection of the National Museum of Sudan.
