The SFDAS and the French Institute of Khartoum welcomed Bernard Noël Chagny, specialist of kite aerial photography. He presented his photographs of archaeological sites in northern Sudan taken between 1999 and 2010. The exhibition « Another view of Sudan. Kite at the service of archaeology » was held from february 6th to february 23rd 2012 in the exhibition room of the French Institute of Khartoum.
At the same time, two lectures were given :
On february 7th, Bernard Noël Chagny : "Archaeology, architecture and biotope with a kite or a balloon"
On february 22nd, Coralie Gradel and Bernard Noël Chagny « Archaeology in the Sudan with a kite since 1911 ».
