Elsa Yvanez

Doctoral student at the university of Charles-de-Gaulle - Lille 3 with a thesis dealing with “Textiles in the Meroitic period”, she was a BAR grantee at the SFDAS between October 2009 and September 2010.
During her stay, she carried out an epigraphic study of rock inscriptions of Semna and Kumma exhibited in the gardens of the Sudan National Museum in Khartoum. She also documented the large textiles, basketry and leathers corpus coming from meroitic cemeteries of the island of Saï.
She was also a grantee at the SFDAS for two months in 2007. During this period she provided information on the scarab corpus dating from the Pharaonic period (almost 600 pieces).
She participated to excavations campaigns :in Dangeil in 2007 (British Museum/NCAM), in Amara in 2009 (British Museum) and in Sedeinga in 2011 (MAEE/SFDAS/Université Paris IV-Sorbonne).
